Privacy and cookies
How Cab Chats Limited uses the personal information you share through this website, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Cab Chats Limited is the controller of the personal information described here. Our company number, registered office and contact details are shown at the foot of every page of this website. For any question about this notice or your information, use the contact form or the email address shown there.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry we collect your name, email address, organisation, the type of enquiry, the product you are interested in and your message.
When you request a pre-order we also collect your company name, contact name, telephone number, industry, delivery country, the products and quantities you are interested in, and how you intend to use them.
With every request we keep a one-way, scrambled form of your internet address and your browser type, so that we can block spam and abuse. We cannot turn the scrambled value back into your address.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry or pre-order request, and to discuss your requirements: our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, or steps you ask us to take before a possible contract.
- To send you occasional updates about Cab Chats, only if you ticked the box: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep this website secure and free of spam: our legitimate interest in protecting the site and the people who use it.
- To meet legal and accounting duties if we later enter into a contract with you: legal obligation.
Updates and unsubscribing
Updates are separate from your enquiry and are only sent if you ask for them. Every update includes a link to stop them, and you can also ask us by replying to any of our emails. Stopping updates does not affect a reply to your enquiry.
Cookies and visitor statistics
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. When you sign in to a staff or visitor account, a strictly necessary cookie keeps you signed in; it is deleted when you sign out or after a short period.
We may count visits to understand which pages are useful. If we do, we use a privacy-focused statistics service that sets no cookies, does not build a profile of you and only reports totals, such as the number of visits to each page. Your browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control setting turns this counting off.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers who run this website for us, under contracts that require them to protect it: our hosting provider, our email delivery provider and, if enabled, our visitor statistics service. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK. When they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and pre-order requests are deleted automatically 24 months after we receive them, unless we are still in discussion with you or must keep them longer by law. If you stop updates, we keep a note that you did so, so that we do not contact you again.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details at the foot of this page. We will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice if the way we use information changes. The latest version is always on this page.
